Magewell Pro Convert Overview

Use the Pro Convert for NDI to SDI Decoder from Magewell to convert an NDI stream with embedded audio to an SDI output signal. This converter supports resolutions up to 2K60 via NDI input and decodes at resolutions up to 1080p60 for 3G-SDI output. Designed to link baseband equipment to IP-based media networks, this component supports full-bandwidth NDI and high-efficiency NDI|HX modes up to NDI|HX3. Supported streaming protocols include SRT, RTSP, RTMP, UDP, RTP, HLS, and HTTP.

Configurable Web UI

  • The Pro Convert Web UI is compatible with a wide variety of web browsers and enables web configuration for settings such as the device name, source name, NDI and EDID identifiers, and other settings.

Will this pass 608/708 captions? Any way to gen lock it?

The manufacturer does not have any published specs defining support for caption pass through and there is no option for genlock on this device.

To confirm this can decode an SRT stream and out SDI?

Yes, the Magewell Pro Convert for NDI to SDI decodes MPEG-TS over SRT.

The Magewell Pro Convert for NDI to SDI will decode streams of NDI, RTSP, HTTP, HLS, RTMP Pull/Push, and MPEG-TS over UDP/SRT/and RTP in either H.264 or H.265 format. It will put out up to 1080p by SDI.

Does this support NDI'HX?

The Magewell Pro Convert for NDI to SDI is able to decode NDI HX.

Can I attach three of these to 5 port switch and still get a good quality feed? They would each be bringing a different NDI signal.

That will depend on the speed of the Network Switch. We recommend Gigabit network switches and higher for NDI set ups.
